PALAKKAD: A man from Kodaikanal who was returning after seeing off his daughter at Nedumbassery International Airport in Kochi was killed when his car hit a divider and fell off the Palakkad-Thrissur National Highway on Tuesday morning.
Thangamuthu (55), who was driving the vehicle, died on the spot. His wife Sumathi, son Akash, and sister Semantagam sustained injuries.
According to the police, the incident took place when Thangamuthu and his family members were heading to Coimbatore after dropping his daughter off at the airport.
As per reports, other motorists who came on the way swung into action on seeing the accident and pulled two people out of the car. Soon, the fire force and other response team personnel reached the spot and shifted the injured to Palakkad District Hospital.
