‘Sex scandal’: SIT issues lookout notice against Prajwal Revanna; arrest at landing imminent

BENGALURU: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the sex scandal case has issued a lookout circular to sitting JD(S) Hassan MP Hassan Prajwal Revanna, according to sources.

The lookout notice was issued after Prajwal, his father, and Holenarsipur MLA H D Revanna, who are accused in the case, failed to appear before the SIT on Tuesday as per a notice of appearance served to them. Since a lookout notice has been issued, Prajwal is likely to be detained as soon as he enters the country, sources said.

A case was registered at Holenarsipur Town Police Station on April 28, naming Prajwal and H D Revanna as suspects. The Congress-led state government subsequently set up a SIT led by Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Criminal Investigation Department (CID), B K Singh to probe the case. As the scandal blew up a political storm in the state amid the Lok Sabha elections, Prajwal fled the country, reportedly to Germany.

MP seeks 7 days time to appear before SIT

Reacting to the lookout notice, Prajwal took to X on Wednesday, and he wrote: “As I am not in Bangalore to attend the inquiry, I have communicated to CID Bangalore through my advocate. The truth will prevail soon.”

In a statement accompanying his X post, his advocate, Arun G noted: “As my client Prajwal Revanna is traveling outside Bengaluru, he needs seven more days to appear before you as per the notice. I request that you give Prajwal seven days and mark another date for the inquiry.”
