Inter-camp U-13 Tourney: Back-to-back centuries for Yash Thakur 

DHARWAD: Talented opener Yash Thakur recorded back-to-back centuries in the on-going Inter-Camp Under-13 Tournament for the Challengers Cup-2024 at Dharwad.

First, he scored a superb 109 off 92 deliveries with 15 hits to the fence against Tejal Shiraguppi Cricket Academy (TSCA), Hubballi, in HSC’s inaugural match, followed by a scintillating, unbeaten 120 off just 75 deliveries with 20 boundaries against Sports Academy of Gada (SAG). HSC won the first match by a close margin of 14 runs, and the second by a thumping margin of 10 wickets.

In their second match, HSC reached the target without losing a wicket in 22.2 overs. Earlier, SAG were restricted to 165 for 6 in their stipulated 30 overs. Samarth (61, 67b, 12×4) and skipper Rohit Pattar (55, 69b, 8×4) were their top scorers, while Hitesh Shivapur (3/25) and Mohd Abbas (2/45) were the pick of the bowlers for HSC.

An excellent spell of bowling by Shlok Chadichal (5/11) enabled Anand Cricket Academy (ACA), Belagavi, to beat Vasant Murdeshwar Cricket Academy (VMCA), Dharwad, by 65 runs. Batting first, ACA were dismissed for 186, and in reply, VMCA could score 121 for 9 despite an unbeaten half century by Viraj Umbardand (74 not out, 98 balls, 11×4).

In the other second round matches, Champion’s Net Cricket Coaching Center (CNCCC), Hubballi, defeated Dharwad Cricket Academy (DCA), Dhrarwad, by 65 runs, while Hubli Cricket Academy (HCA) outplayed hosts SDM Cricket Academy (B), Dharwad, by 63 runs.

• CNCCC, Hubballi: 189 for 4 in 30 overs (Akhilesh S 47, Rajguru Naik 46, Neeraj Menasinakai 23) defeated DCA, Dharwad, 124 in 24.2 overs (Samanyu Hiremath 24, Tanmay 22, Sonakshi Gudadaigol 3/16, Rajguru Naik 2/9, Shiram H 2/10, Vihan Kollur 2/14) by 65 runs.
• HCA, Hubballi: 142 for 7 in 30 overs (ArihantTeekappanavar 40, Nishit R 22, Pruthvish Gadennavar 2/19) beat SDMCA(B), Dharwad: 79 in 19.4 overs (Kriyan Jain 4/19, Yuv Jain 3/23, Akhul 2/16) by 63 runs.
