All the states that are taking part in the event presented their teams and cultural diversity. Subsequently, a cultural program was held, during which the audience had the opportunity to witness various dance forms from different regions of the country.
Atul Kumar Tiwari said that IndiaSkills 2024 is not just a competition, but a celebration of skill, innovation, and determination. It is a testament to the boundless potential of the youth and their ability to shape the future of the nation. It is a platform where dreams are realised and aspirations are nurtured.
In the next three days, the participants will engage in a diverse range of competitions encompassing construction and building technology, creative arts and fashion, information and communication technology, manufacturing and engineering technology, as well as transportation and logistics.

The participants will demonstrate their wide range of skills and talent on a national stage encompassing 61 different areas, from traditional crafts to state-of-the-art technologies. A total of 47 skills competitions are scheduled to take place onsite, with an additional 14 competitions planned to be held offsite in Karnataka, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat, all chosen for their superior infrastructure facilities.
Participants will additionally engage in nine exhibition skills, including the art of drone filming, the craft of textile weaving, the mastery of leather shoemaking, and the expertise of prosthetic makeup.
The IndiaSkills champions, under the guidance of top-notch industry trainers, will undergo rigorous training to gear up for the upcoming WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, France, slated for September 2024. This prestigious event will witness the participation of 1,500 skilled contenders hailing from more than 70 nations.

This year, participants will be able to accumulate credits through the National Credit Framework. The skills demonstrated in both the WorldSkills and IndiaSkills competitions are carefully aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF), enabling participants to convert their learning outcomes into credits and pursue successful careers in their respective fields. Additionally, IndiaSkills has introduced a competition information system called Qrencia for the first time.
A grand closing ceremony will mark the end of the IndiaSkills competition on May 19, said the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in a statement.
