BENGALURU: A case has been registered against BJP candidate K Sudhakar for allegedly bribing the electorate, and cash to the tune of Rs 4.8 crore has been seized, the Election Commission said on Friday.
The Flying Squads Team (FST) of Chikkaballapura has taken action in this connection, it said.
Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer stated in his X post: “The FST of Chikkaballapura seized cash to the tune of Rs 4.8 crore. An FIR has been registered by the state surveillance team of Chikkaballapura constituency against K. Sudhakar, a BJP candidate, on April 25 at Madanayakanahally police station. The FIR is registered under relevant sections of the Representation of the People Act and IPC for bribery and undue influence on electors.”
