Congress’ Lok Sabha candidate from Indore joins BJP

INDORE: In a major setback to Congress, its Lok Sabha candidate from Indore, Akshay Kanti Bam, withdrew his candidature and joined the BJP.  just days before the constituency goes to the polls.
The Congress had fielded Bam against sitting BJP MP Shankar Lalwani from the seat where polling will be held in the fourth phase on May 13.
Confirming the development, Madhya Pradesh cabinet minister Kailash Vijayvargiya extended a warm welcome to Bam upon his induction into the suffron party.

“We welcome Akshay Kanti Bam ji, a Congress Lok Sabha candidate from Indore, into the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, national BJP president JP Nadda and state president VD Sharma,”  Vijayvargiya said in his X post.
