The Indian Army has invited applications from male and female veterinary graduates for the Short Service Commission in the Remount Veterinary Corps (RVC) of the Indian Army.
Eligibility: The applicant should satisfy the nativity conditions given in the detailed notification at https://joinindianarmy.nic.in/.
Age: The applicant should be between 21 and 32 years of age as of May 20, 2024.
Educational qualification: Applicants should possess a BVSc, BVSc, or AH degree from any of the recognized Indian universities or its equivalent foreign degree. Applicants should have passed the qualifying examination with an internship at the time of submission of their application.
Those who are not in possession of mark sheets for all years, parts, and semesters of the qualifying examination and internship completion certificate need not apply.
Vacancies: There are 15 vacancies, of which 12 are for males and three for females.
Selection process: Candidates whose applications are found in order shall be detailed to appear for the Services Selection Board (SSB) on a specified date. Detailed instructions, along with the date and place of SSB, will be intimated directly by Dte Gen Recruiting, IHQ of MoD (Army).
Medical examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a medical examination by a medical board. Details of this are given in the notification.
Merit list: A merit list of the candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate at SSBs.
Grant of Commission: The candidate will be commissioned to the rank of captain.
Training: Selected candidates will be detailed on post-commission training at RVC Centre and College, Meerut Cantt.
Permanent Commission: BVSc/BVSc and AH degree graduates granted SSC in RVC will be considered for grant of permanent commission only if they are below 30 years of age on the date of grant of SSC and if they qualify in the departmental permanent commission (PC) test. MVSc and doctorate degree holders will be considered for the grant of permanent commission with age relaxation as per existing rules commensurate with the ante-date seniority granted to them.
Application: The application on plain paper (21 cmx36 cm) must be duly typed as per the format given in the advertisement.
Filled applications, along with self-attested copies of certificates mentioned in the notification, should be posted by ordinary, registered, or speed post to ‘Directorate General Remount Veterinary Services (RV-1), QMG’s Branch, Integrated Headquarters of MoD (Army), West Block 3, Ground Floor, Wing No-4, RK Puram, New Delhi, 110 066’, to reach by 5 pm on May 20, 2024.
The envelope containing the application should be superscribed ‘Application for Short Service Commission in RVC’, in red ink.
