The Department of Mathematical and Computational Sciences of the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, has invited applications for one summer internship position under the SSR Scheme of the DST-SERB Project.
The position is offered under the project ‘A study on non-linear ill-posed equations under weak conditions with emphasis on parameter identification problems and applications to imaging’ funded by DST-SERB, Government of India.
The duration of the internship is two months (eight weeks), and the intern will get a fellowship amount of Rs 5,000 per month.
The progress of the intern will be assessed every month by a committee as per DST-SERB project guidelines. If the performance is not satisfactory, the internship is liable to be terminated.
Qualifications required
The summer internship programme is open to students studying at Indian universities and institutes. Applicants should be in the final or pre-final year of undergraduate (4-year duration) or final year post graduation in science or engineering with mathematics as a subject. Applicants are expected to have reasonably good proficiency in basic computing (MATLAB).

- A cover letter summarising the application
- A recent CV (including name as per 10th/12th grade mark sheet, a photograph, academic qualification, postal address, contact mobile number, and email ID)
- A scanned copy of the photo ID (proof of the name given in the CV)
- A recommendation letter (scanned copy) from a faculty member of the institute where the candidate is currently studying.
