KASHMIR: Two militants were killed in a military operation in the Redwani Payeen area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir on Tuesday.
“Bodies of two terrorists killed in the anti-terrorist operation have recovered so far. Identity and affiliation are being ascertained. Operation is in progress. Further details shall follow,” police wrote on X.
According to officials, acting on a tip-off, earlier on Monday evening, a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and personnel of the Indian Army launched a cordon and search operation in Redwani Payeen. As the forces were approaching the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire at them, triggering the operation. The operation was halted at night as a precautionary measure and resumed on Tuesday morning.
