6 labourers, a 4-yr-old child killed in underconstruction building collapse in Telangana

HYDERABAD: Seven people, including a four-year-old child, were killed when a retaining wall at an underconstruction apartment came crashing down due to heavy rains at Renuka Yellamma Colony in Bachupally here on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Thirupathi Maji, Shanker, Raju, Kushi, Ram Yadav, Geetha Ram Yadav, and Himanshu (4), labourers working on contract for Horizon Ritz Construction Company. They were from Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Incessant rain has been lashing parts of Telangana, especially Hyderabad, since Tuesday.

BJP workers who visited the accident site demanded that the government give compensation to the victims’ families, and a criminal case was registered against the builder and contractor.
