Advait’s all-round performance: Anand Cricket Academy lifts Little Challengers Cup

ACA, Belagavi, wins Little Challengers Cup

DHARWAD: Aided by a brilliant all-round performance by skipper Advait A. Chavan, Anand Cricket Academy (ACA), Belagavi defeated Shri Durga Sports Academy (SDSA), Hubballi by 79 runs to lift the Under-13 Little Challengers Cricket tournament organised by the SDM Cricket Academy.

Batting first in the final played at the SDMCET ground on Friday, ACA registered a huge 215 for 6 in the allotted 30 overs thanks to Advait, who opened the innings and slammed a superb 136 off 101 deliveries studded with 24 boundaries. In replay, SDSA batters, except skipper Daivik Mugbast (50, 53 balls, 6 fours), failed to counter Advait A. Chavan (4/19) and Shlok Chadichal (3/23), and were dismissed for 136 with 11 deliveries remaining.

Advait A. Chavan (ACA) was adjudged the ‘Player of the Tournament’ while Ansh V. and Ojas Gadkari of the same team were named the ‘Best Bowler’ and the ‘Best Wicketkeeper’ of the tournament, respectively. Pranav J. (SDSA) was declared the ‘Best batter’ of the tournament.

Jeevandhar Kumar, the Vice President of SDM Society and SDMCA, handed over the trophies at the concluding function. Ramesh Chakrasali, principal of SDMCET, presided over the function. Nitin Bhille, Shivaji Waddar, Habib Tadapatri, and others were present.

  • Earlier in the semi-final matches, ACC, Belagavi, defeated Hubli Cricket Academy (HCA), Hubballi, by 134 runs, while Shri Durga Sports Academy (SDSA), Hubballi, sidelined Belgaum Sports Club (BSC), Belagavi, by 33 runs.

  • ACA, Belagavi: 198 for 6 in 30 overs (Advait A. Chavan 98, Ojas Darshan Gadkari 35, Kriyan Jain 3/36) beat HCA, Hubballi 64 in 20.2 overs (Sai M. Vanekar 30, Ansh V 4/8, Shlok Chadichal 2/2, Advait A. Chavan 2/16) by 134 runs.
  • SDSA, Hubballi: 194 for 1 in 30 overs (Pranav J. 95 not out, Daivik Mugbast not out 77) beat BSC, Belagavi: 161 in 24.3 overs (Santosh Talwar 61, Drish R. 48, Samarth 4/32) by 33 runs.
