DHARWAD: Talented Sadhvi Sharanappa Halli has won the Under-7 Girls Chess Title in the Uttara Kannada District Chess Championships-2024 held in Sirsi recently.
Sadhvi, a first standard student at the Atomic Energy Central School (AECS), Kaiga Township, secured 2 points with two wins in the tournament, organised jointly by the Uttara Kannada District Chess Association (UKDCA) and Bhat Chess School (BCS) on May 11 and 12.
She had won the crown in the Girls Under-8 category in the Open Rapid Chess Tournament 2024 held at the Marketing Society Hall, APMC Yard on Sirsi Road in Yallapur, Uttara Kannada, in February this year. The tournament was held under the auspicious of the Karnataka State Licensed Electrical Contractors Association, Yallapur Taluk Samiti, Uttara Kannada.
Sadhvi is the daughter of Chitra and Sharanappa Halli, serving in the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), Kaiga, Uttara Kannada.
