BENGALURU: Aided by good batting displays from their top-order batters, Six Cricket Academy, Bengaluru, defeated the local out-fit RXCA by 7 wickets to claim the ‘Tiger Cup’ Under-16 cricket title on Sunday.
Required to score 146 for the win at the Global Academy of Technology Ground, Six Cricket Academy reached the target in 22.4 overs, losing just three wickets thanks to useful contributions from openers Pranav Kedlaya (43, 42b, 2×4, 1×6), Dhruv Krishna (43, 39b, 6×4, 1×6), and one-drop batter Anvay Dravid (35, 33b, 5×4).
Earlier, batting first, RXCA were bundled out for 145 in 30 overs. Kaustubh Gupta (55, 49b, 7×4, 2×6) was the main scorer, while Sujith Velan B (2/22) and Manish V Patil (2/23) were the main wicket takers.
Later, former state cricketer, entrepreneur, and brand consultant Shiv Prasad M Shet handed over the ‘Tiger of the Match’ award to Dhruv Krishna.
The prize distribution ceremony will be held next month.
