DHARWAD: SMSF Honnali and SDM College, Ujire, are among the eight teams qualified for the quarter final stage of the K G Nadagir Cup State-level Inter-collegiate Men’s Handball Tournament here on Saturday.
Honnali College, comprising the players of the Siddaganga team of Bengaluru, the winners last year, and SDM College, Ujire, along with Alva’s Moodibidari, K I Lokapur College of Athani, St Joseph’s and NIE colleges from Mysuru, Davanagere College, and hosts K G Nadagir College, have moved into the quarterfinals after the league assignments played at the Mallasajjana Vyayamashala Ground here.

Satish Raichur, Assistant Director, Mallasajjan Aarogya Mattu Shikshana Samsthe inaugurated the tournament in the morning. Director Dr. Anand Nadagir and Director of Sports, Karnatak University, Dharwad, Dr. B. M. Patil, will hand over the trophies to the winners at the concluding function scheduled for 4.30 pm on Sunday (June 9). Prakash Naragatti, secretary of the Karnataka Handball Association, will be present, informed Bahubali Chougala, the organising secretary.
