The PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi was launched in 2019 with the objective of offering financial assistance to farmer families who own land throughout the nation. The scheme offers an annual financial benefit of Rs 6,000 to eligible farmer families. It is being executed as a Central Sector Scheme with full financial backing from the Central Government. The amount is being transferred directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts, in three installments of Rs 2,000 each.
To date, the scheme has benefited more than 11 crore farmer families, and over Rs 3 lakh crore has been transferred into the accounts
