Hard work is the only way to achieve success in life, says Dr. Jayashree Kololgi

DHARWAD: Hard work is the only way to achieve success in life, observed Dr. Jayashree Kololgi, Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy, Karnataka Arts College, Dharwad.

She was addressing the students at the inaugural function of the Students’ Union and Sports Activities of the KE Board’s Pre-University Arts, Commerce, and Science College, Malmaddi, here on Saturday morning.

Stressing the importance of yoga, Dr. Jayashree advised the students to keep their minds under control and develop their personalities. Students should develop good habits along with their studies, she added.

Dr. Jayashree, winner of four academic gold medals, announced a yearly cash prize of Rs 11,000 to the topper of the college in PU second year examinations in memory of her mother-in-law, the late Shantadevi Kololgi.

Presiding over the function, Dr. Shrikant Hanamantgad, the Governing Council Chairman of the college, called upon the students to take part in the sports and cultural activities along with the regular academics and emerge as the proud products of the institution.

On this occasion, 24 student office-bearers of the Students’ Union were administered oaths. Textbooks and notebooks were distributed to poor and deserving students. 

Sports Development Officer of KE Board Vasant Murdeshwar, Vice-Principal N S Govindaraddi, Physical Education Lecturer Rajkumar Islampure, Students’ Union President Santosh Vakkund, Vice-President Suma Bisaguppi, and General Secretary Akash Lamani were present on the dais. 

Principal Sunita Kadapatti welcomed the gathering. Senior lecturer S.L. Shekhargol introduced the guest and the president. Lecturer G.C. Kulkarni proposed a vote of thanks. Pavitra Chauhan and Amulya Mokashi compared the programme. Lecturers Hemalata Karigar, Hanumantappa Kalasappanavar, Arun Ganjigatti, Bhargavi, Nagaraj Itagi, and others were also present on the occasion.
